6 1 MITO is a site-specific Augmented Reality installation within the EUR district developed in three years, from 2020 to 2022. Through an ad-hoc augmented reality app that transforms the smartphone in a locative media, each user can capture a corner, a building, a square, walking in the street of the district and follow a narrative path thanks to the multimedia contents created beforehand and visible in different appearances.
The main theme developed in the project consists of a trilogy revealing the Latin goddesses in three experiences (one per year) in augmented reality installed in urban and monumental areas of the district. The project’s first year (2020) was dedicated to Diana, the young woodland goddess who, together with the nature divinities connected with stories, narrates her deeds. The second year (2021) was dedicated to Venus, the goddess of physical and spiritual Love and the pantheon around her, who stands as a marvellous free and jovial metaphor of human love, fertility and passions together with Proserpine, Bacchus, Cybele, Amor, Zephyrus, Flora and Horae. The third and final year (2022) is dedicated to Minerva, the Latin goddess of wisdom and knowledge. Minerva alongside Jupiter for ages represents courage, inspiration, commerce, law, science and technology.
The project was financed by the Department of Cultural Activities of Roma Capitale.  In RomeVideoGameLab the entire experience is transferred into a navigable metaverse, thanks to the Mozilla Foundation's VR platform. The EUR of 6 1 Myth is reconstructed, made navigable and the appearances of the deities are placed in the virtual spaces and also linked with museum and epigraphic content to be explored in the virtual space. The fruition will take place through virtual immersion with helmets and will be guided by an operator who will accompany both physical and virtual visitors accessing the VR world. The peculiarity of this system is that visitors meet in a navigable world that hosts cultural content without the tension of videogames; there is no competition but sharing and dialogue.
The Komplex group, composed of Mariano Equizzi (writing and AR Design), Luca Liggio (digital video management) and Paolo Bigazzi Alderigi (music and sound design), comes from experiences in live cinema, interactive cinema and webcinema. For Komplex, technologies are an opportunity to create increasingly sought-after forms of interactivity and immersion free from rigid codes. Komplex has installed experiences at urban festivals whose subject matter was new media, cinema and the essential semantic redetermination of spaces through technology: from Perugia to Milan and Turin, from Albuquerque to Palermo, from Columbia to Sofia.
Mariano Equizzi, since the 1990s, after training at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, has dedicated himself to multimedia creation Since 2013, with the Komplex project, he has been the leading independent creator of augmented reality experiences for urban spaces around the world.
