AZombie Apocalypse. Exploring Agent Based Modelling

CNR – Istituto di Nanotecnologie e Fotonica

  1. 12.00 p.m. – 1.00 p.m.

  2. Basilica Aemilia - Aula Pac-Man
A practical workshop to experiment on the fundamentals of Agent Based Modeling, a coding and modelling mode, quite useful to study complex systems, whose many elements interact with one another, like in our immune system, traffic jams, or the formation of crystals. And, why not, even a Zombie apocalypse.
Luca Businaro, physician and CNR-IFN researcher, developing models on biologic systems’ microfluidic chips and analyzing their behavior. Alongside image and agent model analyses with applications in biology, for several years, now, he’s been also dealing with technological transfer and divulgation, working with schools and science communication TV programs.
Fabio Chiarello, physician, CNR-IFN researcher, working with superconductive devices, macroscopic quantum phenomena, and quantum applications. An active science communicator, through conferences, school projects, workshops, games, lectures/concerts. Author of the book “L’Officina del Meccanico Quantistico” (“The Quantum Mechanic’s Shop”), and coordinator of the high schools’ “Fotonica in Gioco” (Playing with Photonics) contest.

Target: High school students, adults.

Duration: 60’
