A playable retrospective of 75 interactive stations retracing the history of home gaming from the 1970s to the 2000s: the first home consoles with interchangeable cartridges, Atari and its competitors, the Commodore 64 and then the Nintendo Entertainment System, all the systems of the 1990s up to the times of the Playstation and beyond.
RomeVideoGameLab presents the evolution of the video game by first adopting a chronological approach, framing the most important milestones and innovations in terms of technology and creativity, the birth of genres (platform, puzzle, racing game) and the fundamental junctures that have made them what they are today.
At the same time, the retrogaming area of the festival delves into some characteristic thematic nuclei, such as farm games: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (GameCube); Farm (PC Dos); Sheep (Playstation); Pssst (Spectrum).
A large space will also be reserved for the arcade world, with 10 original arcade to relive the atmosphere of the old arcades, in free-to-play mode.
