Rome Videogame Lab is the first and only Italian festival of the applied games, those interactive virtual simulations of reality which, throughout playing, achieve educational, marketing goals and social and cultural awareness.

The event, which takes place in the Cinecittà Studios, was born with the aim of raising awareness of the world of video games created not only to entertain, but mainly aimed at learning in various fields: healthcare, scientific dissemination, education, cultural heritage and more.

Rome Videogame Lab has been produced since 2018 by Cinecittà SpA in co-production with Q Academy and in collaboration with IIDEA-Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association

The festival is part of Cinecittà SpA's commitment to programs of development of the gaming industry in Italy and relies on the support of Mibact, the Lazio Region, the Municipality of Rome, the collaboration of the CNR, public and private institutions and other entities.

The Rome Videogame Lab editorial director is Giovanna Marinelli, president of Q Academy, an expert in cultural management with managerial experience in both public and private cultural structures and in the management of large events.

Project manager is Francesca Sereno, organizational manager of Q Academy. She is a founding member of the Fitzcarraldo Foundation in Turin, where she gained experience in developing plans for cultural projects, she was a columnist for Giornale delle Fondazioni.

Orsola Damiani is the graphic designer of Rome Videogame Lab. Her experience ranges from festivals, art exhibitions, shows, events. As an illustrator she publishes children's books, she designs and creates illustrations for teaching in museums, for online magazines, for wine labels ...

Monica Maffei - coordination of the educational area

Cultural operator and organizer of events especially in the theatrical field, she works for important associations of the Roman territory including the Cultural Association AREA06 with which she has been organizing the multidisciplinary festival SHORT THEATER, PAV, LUCI OMBRE for 6 consecutive years

Manuel Miccinatti – developers’ coordination for B2B area

Graduated in Economics and Business Sciences at the Milano-Bicocca University with a thesis on the evolution of video game companies, he collaborated with IIDEA in the creation of events in the video game sector such as Milan Games Week - Indie Area, Italian Video Games Award and Games Industry Day.

Diego Grammatico - management of relations with the International Audiovisual Market

Graduated in international politics from King's College London, he worked in the English Parliament and in a market analysis agency in the City, before arriving at Istituto Luce Cinecittà, where he currently follows projects related to the audiovisual sector.

Michelangelo Micheli - Social Media Manager

Bachelor's degree in “Performing arts and the science of Performance” and master's degree in “Publishing and writing industry” at La Sapienza University of Rome. He did an internship at the AFI-American Film Institute as a production assistant for the Directing Workshop for Women. He collaborated with the Moviheart production company for audiovisual projects and advertising promos.
